Hello there! My name is Meg and I would like to invite you to share a story ,ask for advice or submit a picture. I will be offering advice on pet behavior problems,so feel free to ask if you need some help. If you have a pet that barks alot and you want to start a training exercise to put a stop to it try this: When you come home after being away for a time be very calm and do not greet your dog until they have calmed down and stopped barking and jumping. I turn my body in a circle with out saying a word to keep the dog from being able to jump on me. I do not say anything or acknowledge the dog until it is quiet and sitting. Once this happens you can then calmly greet your pet. You can step out and in the door several times doing the same thing until you get the behavior you want. Remember any reaction positive or negative is attention to a dog and they will take what they can get if left alone for periods of time. This is ""seperation anxiety" and the more you make a big deal out of it the worse it will get. I like to treat good behavior so put a couple of dog cookies your dog likes in your pocket.
